D-Day 1944 — The True Meaning of Memorial Day

The best-known D-Day in history took place on 6 June 1944 during WWII.  This is when our American/Allied forces stormed the beaches of Normandy, France, which culminated in the emancipation of a large majority of Western Europe from the Nazis. And thanks to the D-Day invasion, only a few months later, a large part of northern France was freed from German control.
